Meeting the grandparents...

After the little man was born Luke headed off with him to the nursery to get weighed and measured and whatnot. The grandparents got to see through the glass and they found out he was a boy but Luke made them wait to find out the name from me. Unfortunately for them, they had to wait like 2.5 hours. After almost an hour in recovery, nursing for the first time, and the debacle to get me set up with IV's and stuff, they were finally able to come in and meet him. It was amazing to watch. There was just so much awe and love and pride pouring from them...

I was induced at 9 am on February 17 and after being told at noon that my hips were small, then learning that the baby was headed sideways and not taking the contractions very well at 6ish, we were headed in for a c-section. Jackson Lucas was born at 7:35 pm.

36 weeks - Jan. 27, 2011

Here is my 36 week picture. You'll have to excuse the weird picture. I was having trouble getting a good picture. For some reason standing on the toilet does not help with balance when trying to take self portraits. My belly is getting bigger. It seems like it grows all the time. Yesterday it was 41 inches, but I think today the bambino moved up and is laying sideways in my belly, making it bigger. Now the baby's hiccups are in my stomach as opposed to my pelvis. Technically we only have 4 more weeks, but were hoping the baby wants out sooner. I am slightly dilated and effaced, and having braxton hicks almost every day. They seem to be getting more intense, but we'll see. Luke is super excited! The bag is packed and next to the door, and the diaper bag is packed, and my camoflauge hooter hider is made, and the carseat is in the car. Now if only the baby would get here.

So the past two weeks I babysat a 2.5 year old and a 3.5 year old on Thursday morning. The 3 year old is full of information, especially about babies. Like where they come out of your body and today when I was 'babysitting' her baby she came to pick it up and asked if it was crying. I told her yes, and that I thought the baby was hungry. She said "Good, cause I have some milk in my boob." And she proceeded to feed the baby using the football hold. At least she knows the correct form for breastfeeding, even if it was more stomach feeding. It was hilarious. Little kids crack me up.

29 weeks - December 12, 2010

Look at my giant belly!!! Only 11 weeks to go.
-Im having trouble washing my feet in the shower.
-bending sideways is NOT happening
-Ive grown out of Luke's carhart jacket. Luckily my father-in-law bought me a new pink coat. Otherwise baby would be cold this winter. Like in January when its -21.
-We went to the doctor last week and things are good. Heartbeat sounded good, glucose test was good....Now we have all our appointments set up for the next 11 weeks. Every two weeks and the last four weeks are every week. Exciting!!!

25 weeks - Nov. 15th ish

I've been meaning to post these pics, but alas, life gets in the way...
This is me at 25 weeks. Dont mind the funny look on my face: look at my belly.

Right after that my good friend Theresa came through town and we had the pleasure of catching up during lunch at McDonalds. It was Luke, Tree, Caleb, & I. Tree is preggo too! Her baby will be delivered via C-section on February 2, a few weeks before Baby Bobcat is due.


And here is a picture of Caleb. I can't believe he's almost 2! The last time we saw him he was so little!!! He was a little shy at first, but enjoyed the play place at MCDonalds and of course fell in love with Luke. I swear, Luke is like a baby whisperer. Little ones love him. He will be such a great dad!!!

Baby Update 11/9/10

We went to the doctor yesterday for our 24 week appointment and all is well. He said things are doing great, and I'm right on schedule via weight gain. He did a quick ultrasound and said things look good.

Things I'm noticing:
*I'm pretty sure my belly grows overnight! Luke agrees
*Its getting harder and harder to bend over. I have to sit down to put on my socks. I'm learning to squat more often.
*My appetite has increased like crazy, and my bladder is more and more squished every day. I swear some days all I do is pee and eat, eat and pee. ha ha
*We still don't want to know what the sex is. Sorry Alli & Vicki!
*My parents have started calling the baby "Waldo" because after looking at the ultrasound pics they think its like playing Where's Waldo. This baby is not a Waldo! We much prefer "Baby Bobcat". Hopefully "waldo" doesn't stick.

Cat Griz football is next weekend. Its the Cat's year! We're excited.

Pregnancy Update 10/31/2010

Here you go, pictures of my ever growing belly!




The pregnancy is going pretty well at this point. I am still a little bit nauseated at times and am continuing to take the anti-nausea pill everyday. Its a lot better than it was though! Im also still tired and wear out easily, which can contribute to some nausea. Right now we are 23 weeks of 40, which is about 5.5 months. According to What to Expect When You're Expecting, a trimester is 13 weeks, so I will be 6 months at 26 weeks, in roughly 2.5 weeks. The baby is growing right on schedule. At our appointment a few weeks ago he or she was .75 pounds. It seems like every day my belly is bigger when I wake up. Luke agrees. The baby is also very active. Baby bobcat kicks and moves around a lot. Its really exciting when Luke gets to feel the kick.

I have had some cravings, but not for foods I normally crave, like chocolate. I want macaroni and cheese and hamburger and pickles. Weird. I think I could live off mac and cheese. yum!

We do not know the sex of the baby and don't want to find out. We want to be surprised when he or she comes out. Our friends and relatives are not thrilled about this because it puts a kink in their shopping plans, especially Nanny V's. We have some white and yellow for the beginning. I'm sure the shopping will begin as soon as word is out.

In the meantime, keep praying for a healthy baby!

Update (finally!): baby & missoula

Ive been a total slacker lately. Im 18+ weeks pregnant now (almost halfway!!!), and the sickness has mostly subsided. I'm still taking anti-nausea medicine but not as much. Now I'm just dealing with uterus stretching pain and uncomfortableness, and round ligament pain. Hopefully I can turn into a normal human being soon, Im sure Luke would like his wife back. :)

For those who are wondering, no we don't know what we're having, and no, we don't want to know. It will be a big surprise! Luke is convinced its a boy, and I have no idea. I'd be happy with either. Just a healthy baby is all I'd like. And to not be pregnant anymore.

We are liking living in Missoula. The church is wonderful and we have found a wonderful church family. Luke is still working really hard and loving his job. His diploma came in the mail today, which was exciting. We're leading a small group bible study on Tuesday nights and are excited for that.

Don't worry, we haven't let Missoula rob us of our love for the Bobcats. The baby already has a bobcat onesie. I told my father-in-law that it will be the only baby to come out of the Missoula hospital in bobcat gear.

It sounds like......THE PITTER PATTER OF LITTLE FEET! We're Pregnant!!!!

The reason there has been no activity on the blog is because I have been sick and dying on the couch thanks to 24/7 morning sickness. We got back to Montana on July 1, the day the sickness hit, and it is now August 27th and I am STILL sick. yuck. Today feels pretty good, so far. Thank God!

So anyways, we are 14 weeks pregnant, which is 3.5 months. We are super excited about the little one, due Feb. 24, 2011. The grandparents and uncles are excited too. Its still kind of surreal. Last time we went to the doctor we were able to do an ultrasound and see it moving around, which made it more real.

In other news, we are really liking Missoula (I never thought I'd say that!). Our church is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and so kind. They've brought us meals and invited us to dinners and helped us unpack. Its great. The only downfall of this town is that there are entirely too many Grizzlies around.
