winner winner chicken dinner

Ok ok ok, I know I completely suck at writing posts lately. Mostly because I feel like were boring. Its been really cold and we just stay home in our sweats and watch movies and One Tree Hill. Its actually quite wonderful! However, there has been some actual cooking in our house, which is exciting. Im the queen of oh look a frozen pizza - dinner! or How about grilled cheese and tomato soup? Im all about easy. But last week luke made this yummy chicken deliciousness that I liked so much that I made some last night. I thought I'd share with y'all.

Cream Cheese Chicken Crescents
2 cans canned chicken (you can use real if you want, but I really hate defrosting frozen chicken and then cutting it up. Raw chicken is gross, so if I can avoid it, I will)
~3/4 c chive & onion cream cheese
Small can sliced mushrooms (again, if you are so inclined, you can use the real deal)
Tube of crescent rolls.

Mix the chicken, cream cheese and mushrooms. You could probably add something else to it, like green onions or green pepper or soemthing if you wanted to spice it up a bit. Place some in one of the unrolled, unbaked crescent rolls and roll it back up. Bake at 375 for ~10-12 minutes. It tends to make a lot of mixture, so you could probably use two tubes of rolls if you wanted them more as appetizers. They're delish! and easy!

Baby Shower #1

In a little less than 3 weeks, baby Caleb Steven will be gracing the world. He is the son of my very good friend Tree and her hubby Jon. This weekend I went to Helena to spend time with Tree and go to her baby shower.
Here is a picture of the "hooter hider" that I made her. Its a nursing cover that has a neck strap that bows out at the top in the front so that you can see the baby and you dont have to worry about a blanket falling off or whatever. OBviously, I dont have a baby yet so I dont know very much about nursing, but apparently hooter hiders are the hot thing right now. I also made her a matching burp cloth and diaper changing pad thingy that rolls up and ties.

This next picture is me and a very pregnant Tree. Sorry the picture is a little fuzzy. People keep asking if shes having twins, but its just Caleb in there. Hes a big baby. Im very excited for Tree & Jon. They are going to make great parents. The shower was a lot of fun and the visit was even better.

Quilt Ministry

At church I belong to the quilt ministry. Basically its just an excuse for us quilters to get together once a month and make quilts for African orphans. Its rewarding and we all know how much I love quilting! Here are two quilts I made. The first one was the first one I made. Theres only one place where my blocks didn't quite go together right (meaning the fabrics), but probably nobody notices except me.

The second one is the same "pattern" essentially, but neither time I put it together the way it was supposed to be put together. I just didn't really like it so I did my own thing. This is kind of how I roll. I like the second one the best. I think it turned out really cute.

Alli said my quilts made her want to be an orphan. :)
